ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Shana Dukes and I am a dedicated advocate for education and community empowerment. I am running for School Board to ensure that every student receives a high-quality education that prepares them for success in the future.

With my Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business and a Master's degree in Restorative Justice, I have a strong educational background that informs my passion for equitable education. My experience as a Program Director, Head of Operations in the United States Army Reserves, and Research Assistant at South Carolina State University, have equipped me with the skills necessary to lead and manage complex programs.

I am committed to supporting teachers and staff, ensuring that they have the resources they need to provide the best possible education to students. I am also passionate about closing the achievement gap, which I see as a key issue facing our schools. I believe that the school board has a responsibility to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students, regardless of their background.

As a member of the school board, I will prioritize transparency and accountability, working to ensure that the community has a voice in the decision-making process. I am committed to building partnerships with families, community organizations, and local businesses to create a culture of support for our schools.
